Mission Walkthrough
1. Initiate “
Mantis” Quest:
Get ‘Secret Outpost!’ Note:
Start by finding a vital clue about the secret outpost. Locate the “Secret Outpost!” note during the Back to Vectera mission, often on the planet of Heller and Barrett’s crash. Looting this note triggers the “Mantis” mission with an objective to read the “Secret Outpost” slate.
2. Uncover Clues:
Read ‘Secret Outpost!’ Slate:
Progress the “Mantis” mission by accessing the inventory’s “Notes” section. Locate the acquired “Secret Outpost!” slate and click on it to trigger the “Go to Denebola I-b” objective.
3. Journey to Denebola I-b: Reach Denebola I-b and identify the Secret Outpost’s landing target. Exercise caution as you encounter Spacers outside. Proceed indoors after clearing initial obstacles.
4. Inside Secret Outpost:
Explore Mantis’ Lair, Objectives, Talk to Livvey:
Inside, confront Spacers, find locked safes with loot, and eliminate them. Look for intercoms conveying messages from the Mantis. Some Spacers carry note slates contributing to the optional objective. Further in, meet Spacer Livvey, who provides clues. Choose to involve or confront Livvey, affecting your interaction.
5. Solve Mantis Floor Puzzle: Navigate a corridor indicated by Livvey, where lettered floor panels present a challenge. Incorrect steps activate automated turrets. The solution, found in a note from Leon, is “TYRANNIS.” Carefully navigate the tiles to spell “TYRANNIS.”
6. Acquire Mantis Rewards: Claim Mantis Spacesuit and Starship: After clearing the trapped corridor, face robots and turrets. Listening to automated messages aids learning about the Mantis’ lair. In the heart of the Mantis’ lair, enter the Batcave and claim the Mantis spacesuit and starship. Find the spacesuit in a nearby storage room and interact with the mannequin. Access a control panel to lift the Mantis ship, the Razorleaf, to the surface. Follow the mission marker to the Razorleaf, making it your home ship.
Mission Rewards (Upon Completion)
Completing the “Mantis” mission grants players the Mantis spacesuit and the Mantis starship, the Razorleaf. These rewards are exceptionally valuable for a mission of relatively straightforward nature.
The Razorleaf starship boasts impressive equipment and armament, surpassing the Frontier (the default ship from the “One Small Step” mission) in all statistics except ballistic weaponry.
